[Hotels]
There are many hotels in Reykjavik. Going from luxury to comfort and budget hotels.
Outside Reykjavik, hotels are located in popular tourist areas. You can find them with or without private facilities.

[Guesthouses]
The guesthouses in the nation's capital and the rest of Iceland, give you all the accommodation benefits that you would enjoy in other places in an environment that will make you feel at home.
There are 2 types of guesthouses, with our without private facilities in your room.

[Farms or Country Hotels]
Icelandic Farm Holidays is a chain of farms around Iceland offering travellers accommodation and a variety of services. Accommodation is in farmhouses, country hotels, separate houses or cottages. Travellers can choose from Bed & Breakfast in rooms with or without private facilities or sleeping-bag accommodation. Cottages are usually rented by the week.

[Youth Hostels]
Iceland has 26 Hostelling International Hostels around the country. Most hostels have 2 – 6 bedded rooms and 25 hostels have family rooms. Duvets and pillows are always complimentary, you just have to bring your one bed linen or rent it in the hostel. The hostels in Reykjavik and Höfn have also rooms with private facilities. All other hostels are with shared facilities. Every hostel has a well equipped guest kitchen for individual cooking. Most hostels serve breakfast and dinner.

[Camping grounds]
Many Icelandic camping places are located in spectacular surroundings and camping in Iceland´s beautiful nature will make your trip exceptional. Camping is permitted in most rural areas of the sparsely populated Iceland, permission is necessary to camp on farms or private property. Many have swimming pools close by or offer recreational activities. Some camping sites in Iceland offer other types of accommodation as well, such as guesthouses and cottages, or sleeping bag accommodation in cabins.

[Mountain huts]
Mountain huts are found along popular walking tracks and routes around the country. Several huts offer cooking facilities but accommodation is always dormitory style and guests must supply their own sleeping bag and food. It is advised to book and pay the huts in advance, specially on the popular Laugavegur trek.
