River Fun

The Hvítá river is a beautiful and fun river a little more than one hour from Reykjavík. The river has a perfectly balanced mix of serene canyons and adrenaline pumping waves and rapids. On our way we pass through the magnificent Brúarhlöð canyon and in that stunning setting participants have the option of jumping from a cliff into the river. Who can resist going glacier river swimming in Iceland?
No one should leave Iceland without experiencing the power that its rivers contain and lay eyes on the scenic canyons of Hvítá river...not to mention relaxing with a beer in our sauna or hot-tubs after a day of adventure!

No knowledge of the sport is required. Trip dificulty: 2-3 out of 5 / easy

Age limit: 12 years.
Season: May to October, depending on weather
Guaranteed departures: Every day at 8:30 and 12:00 from Reykjavik and 11:00 and 14:00 from Drumbo base camp from 15th of May until 10th of September, minimum 2 participants. Outside this period minimum 4.
Pick up from Reykjavik is available every day 08:30 – 09:00 & 12:00 - 12:30.
Duration: 3-7 hours
Departures: Daily - Free pick up at your hotel in Reykjavik.
What to bring: Warm sweater, bathing suit, extra clothes and a towel.
Included: Sauna, showers, soup and bread after the rafting.

How to Get there!
If you are driving yourself you have to be at Drumbó Basecamp 15 min before your departure time to check in for the tour. Driving from Reykjavík is around 75-90 min drive, driving non stop at the maximum speed rate of 90 km per hour.
Here are directions:
Drive road no. 1 east from Reykjavík (the direction of Hveragerði). Once you are passed Hveragerði take a left turn just before the town of Selfoss up road no. 35 (direction Geysir). Drive road no. 35 for approx. 30-40 min until you are past the small town of Reykholt. 5-10 min later you take a right turn at an Arctic Rafting sign. Drive the gravel road for approx. 5-10 minutes following the signs all the way to Drumbó…
